Men and women are equally responsible

On Saturday morning 17 July 2020 at about 11h00 there was a radio talk on 90.40.

It sounded like Tswana, but English was also used. A lady campaigned for a “walk” to promote women's rights and the “choice” to have an abortion or not.

The subject of discussion was women. Women were for a long time neglected. They were treated as secondary citizens. That will include less work opportunities and lower salaries.

There is still an area where women do not have a say in Namibia, that is the right to decide if they want to reproduce or not. They must now be well informed about the pros and cons of abortion and have the right of choice.

The choice is not there. It's already too late.

The choice is to commit an act of reproduction or not. After conception nothing can stop the growth of a new human being.

Adam and Eve were created. All other humans are two cells that grow as a fetus. I do not know a human being that was not a fetus.

Most of our problems today was as result of a choice Eve made. The choice was to play God.

In this case it is a choice between life and death – like capital punishment. We must learn out of that and not stay passive so that women are allowed to kill the results of not making the right preventative choices.

Men are co-responsible for the dilemma of a woman expecting an unwanted baby. For some of them an abortion is a welcome outcome, because they cannot or will not marry the child's mother. They will probably think it will pass by unpunished. Unfortunately it will not be the case.

Men must also be informed about the destructive “medical” procedures to remove a baby from a womb.

With hope.
