Mazda make their magical CX-5 available
There is only one week to go until the exhilaration of this year’s Namibia Tourism Expo.
YOCHANAAN COETZEE
Mazda has the kind of brand capital that many manufacturers could only wish for. Yes, others have fantastic fables of their own, but Mazda has enjoyed success in every sub-premium segment going back nearly a 100 yrs.
Their ethos of ‘Jinba Ittai’, or ‘rider and horse as one’, has seen them produce some of the world’s favourite affordable cars over the years. Whether it was the raucous RX-7, or the seminally sensational MX-5 Miata, Mazda always found a way to instil something special into their vehicles, and they’ve been richly rewarded for this extra effort.
They did, however, need to shake up their showroom and boy, have they. Since the introduction of their ‘Kodo: Soul of Motion’ design some years ago, they shifted their focus to vastly upping their level of trim quality and safety specification.
Leading this charge is their slick new SUV, the CX-5, which has gone on to even poach customers from more premium offerings, thanks to its mix to luxurious styling, smooth ride and engaging dynamics.
“Not only is the CX-5 a beautifully stylish car, but it’s highly advanced and incredibly safe, having scored a 4.5 star rating in the Euro NCAP safety tests,” says Xavier van Wyk, sales executive at Novel Mazda.
With these factors in mind, it is easy to see why the CX-5 just had to be among the fine collection of vehicles taking part in the Namibia Tourism Expo’s Win-a-Car competition.
Road to the expo
With only one week until Namibia’s biggest annual tourism and hospitality expo, the anticipation is at a fever pitch, with thousands of local and foreign exhibitors raring to mix, mingle and enjoy the feast of food, drink and destinations that will be on offer.
Every adult ticket-holder will be in the running to drive off in one of the seven dream machines that we have been promoting over the last several weeks. This excitement has caused a stir on social media, with people from far and wide now even more eager to attend this annual highlight.
Active and attractive
The 2.0 Active that Novel Mazda has entered for the competition is an absolute gem of a car. With 121kW at the ready, it’s a nimble and fun drive and thanks to its beautifully emotive styling, looks sculpted and sleek from every angle.
Its interior features a dual-zone air-conditioning system, seven-inch infotainment display with Bluetooth®, cruise control and ISOFix anchor points, all packaged in a modern and stylish set-up that feels vastly more pricey than one would expect at that price point.
Safety and convenience features include an electronic parking brake with Hill Launch Assist (HLA), keyless start, rain-sensing wipers, reverse camera and G-Vectoring control, in addition to the standard fare of ABS, EBD and TCS.
If you’d like you get your hands on this phenomenal five-seater family car, and experience the otherworldly confidence that the G-Vectoring system gives you through a corner, simply pop into Novel Mazda’s new showroom in Windhoek. Or, better yet, buy yourself a ticket to this year’s Namibia Tourism Expo and come see if your name is going to be the one on the winning title deed.
