He has been involved in some of the most ground-breaking and innovative projects since the company was founded. One such project was when Paratus created connectivity between Namibia and South Africa and laid equipment across the river. August’s love of computers is counter-balanced by his adoration for nature; he says if he weren’t working for Paratus, he would live on his farm and work as a nature conservationist.He is married to Kathrina, who he admires most for her support and encouragement and, without her, he would not be where he is today. He also thanks her for being a great mother to their five children.You know where you stand with August and his honesty is disarming, fair and straightforward. His influence is far reaching, and he loves to see his team flourish and develop under his watchful guidance. His driving force is his hunger for new information and experiences. He keeps up with technology, by listening to new ideas and looking at ways he can change the game and make operations work better and faster. He is very excited about the future. Paratus is ‘thinking big’ and is currently busy with many new developments, including building of the landing station for the Google Equiano cable in Swakopmund and the new data centre which is under construction.
