Pres. Cyril Ramaphosa het Maandagoggend minstens twee uur gewag om 'n trein van Soshanguve na Pretoria te haal.

Ramaphosa het tydens sy treinrit met pendelaars gesels en vir hulle gevra watter uitdagings hulle in die gesig staar.

Dít is deel van 'n verkiesingsveldtog waar talle ANC-lede Maandag met die trein sal ry.

Soshanguve is 'n township wat minstens 30 km buite Pretoria geleë is. – Netwerk24

Zimbabwe en Mosambiek

Presidente knip reise kort ná sikloon

Pres. Emmerson Mnangagwa van Zimbabwe en pres. Filipe Nyusi van Mosambiek het hul oorsese reise kortgeknip nadat minstens 150 mense in die suidelike dele van Afrika dood is in die verwoesting wat deur sikloon Idai veroorsaak is.

Albei presidente het reise onderneem net toe die sikloon hul onderskeie lande getref het, berig AP, waarna hulle hewige kritiek oor die reise uitgelok het.

Honderde mense was Sondag steeds vermis terwyl duisende mense glad nie toegang tot telefone of paaie het nie.

Celso Correia, Mosambiek se minister van omgewingsake, sê dit is seker die grootste natuurlike ramp wat Mosambiek nog getref het.

“Alles is vernietig. Mense se lewens is nou ons grootste prioriteit.”
