Die jong sangeres Jessica Ashley (Strydom) van Swakopmund stel vandag haar eerste enkelsnit – wat sy self geskryf het – vry.

Die lied “Only 9” wat oor haar kinderjare handel, kan van Amazon Music, Apple iTunes, Deezer, SHAZAM, Spotify en Tidal afgelaai word.

Die 19-jarige Jessica Ashley sing al sedert sy nege jaar oud is.

“Ek wou net vir die pret sing, maar het 'n paar jaar later besef ek wil dit vir 'n lewe doen.”

Sy het Namibië op 14-jarige ouderdom in Spanje verteenwoordig.

Op 16-jarige ouderdom het sy ook in Los Angeles in Amerika aan die Wêreldkampioenskap van die Uitvoerende Kunste deelgeneem. Sy het reeds die topses in die Voice of Namibia-sangkompetisie gehaal en sal in Desember by Miss Legacy World se kroningsgeleentheid in Suid-Afrika optree.

Jessica Ashley tree gewoonlik elke Woensdag en Vrydag by Soundgarden in Swakopmund op.

“Ek sing die graagste popmusiek, maar ek hou van alle genres. Ek is nou besig om te leer om kitaar te speel en werk aan my tweede liedjie.”

Die skakel van haar enkelsnit sal vandag onder meer op haar Facebook-blad bekend gemaak word.
