Hollard - your insurance partner of choice

Long term, genuine and mutually beneficial partnerships
Gerine Hoff
Established in 1980, the Hollard Insurance Group is one of the largest privately-owned insurance groups in the region.
Although the company has only been around for just over 30 years, theirroots go way back to the late 1950s and early 1960s. It was then that an insurance broker, Robert Enthoven, realised that insurance companies were not adequately meeting the needs of their corporate customers.
He had an idea to start an insurance company that formed deep and long-term partnerships with corporate customers in a way that allowed them to share in the fruits of improved risk management. Out of this spirit of true partnership the Hollard Insurance Company was born.
Since then Hollard has gone from strength to strength, but they have never forgotten their roots – long term, genuine and mutually beneficial partnerships form the core of everything they do as an insurance group today.
CORE VALUES & CULTURE
Some call it their culture, some call it their ethos and some Hollardites call it the Hollard mystique, and it’s something staff is passionate about. It is also something that every Hollardite knows instinctively and brings to their day-to-day activities.
At their core lies the concept of doing things differently. Not for the sake of being different, but to make a difference – to make a positive change in the lives of customers, partners, suppliers and communities.
As a Hollard customer, clients can expect to be treated with respect, dignity and above all, a sense of common humanity. Staff are held to the highest standard and they will try their best to live up to your expectations.
PARTNERSHIP PHILOSOPHY
Hollard’s success is built on the concepts of partnership, people and innovation. Of these, their approach to partnership is probably the thing that differentiates the company most as an insurance company.
At Hollard, partnership means an engagement built on what they call “win-win-win” – they won’t enter into a partnership unless Hollard, their partner and the insurance-buying customer are all able to win.
The second unique aspect of Hollard’s approach recognises that partnership is about being together through the rough and the smooth. Because they are privately owned, they are able to take a longer term view of opportunities and this helps them deal with the trials and tribulations that will inevitably characterise any partnership.
Another thing that distinguishes Hollard’s partnership approach, is their willingness to partner with a large variety of different entities. From financial institutions to large retailers, from traditional insurance intermediaries to soccer clubs, Hollard has partnered wherever they can create a better value proposition for all players in the insurance value chain.
