The chairperson of Tigers Football Club, Hafeni Hiveluah, said the club will adhere to the Covid-19 regulations and urged their players and staff to take the available vaccine.
This he said after health minister Dr Kalumbi Shangula recently announced that contact sports will come to a halt for the month of June due to the increase in Covid-19 cases and deaths in the country.
“The executive committee of Tigers Sports Club would like to inform all its players, technical and administrative staff, supporters and sympathisers that all sporting activities of both football and netball are suspended with immediate effect until further notice.
The committee further encouraged everyone to take the available vaccines and said health and safety is of paramount importance.
“We always place the health and safety of our players, technical and administrative staff, supporters as well as our fellow Namibians first before anything else,” the chairman said.
He further commended the Namibia Football Association and Netball Namibia for adhering to the amendment of the regulations.
