Me. Ndatyapelao Nangula Costa (40, links) was een van 430 kinders wat in 1978 ná die slag van Cassinga uit die vlugtelingkamp verwyder en na die ­destydse Duitse Demokratiese Republiek (DDR) gestuur is. Die kinders is in die ­Bellin-kasteel in Bellin en in die Ehemalige Schule der Freundschaft ­Stassfurt (Stassfurt) gehuisves waar hulle skool- en beroepsopleiding ontvang het. Die Bellin-kasteel is in 1910 deur mnr. Henry Brarens Sloman as vakansiehuis gebou. Een van sy nasate, me. Angelika Sloman (regs), is die eienaar en be­stuurder van die kasteel wat vandag 'n hotel is. Die DDR-kinders het in Augustus 1990 met Namibië se onafhanklikwording en die val van die Berlynse muur na Namibië teruggekeer. Vir Costa was dit die eerste keer wat sy ná dekades weer na haar tuiste van sewe jaar terugkeer. Foto Henriette Lamprecht
