‘n Helikopter van die Venezuela-polisie het Dinsdag ‘n aanval op die land se hoërhof uitgevoer en die politieke krisis in die land verdiep.

Pres. Nicolas Maduro sê “terroriste” wat ‘n staatsgreep beplan, het die aanval uitgevoer.

Altesaam 15 skote is uit die helikopter op die ministerie van binnelandse sake afgevuur, waar ‘n groot aantal mense ‘n sosiale geleentheid bygewoon het. Vier handgranate is ook op die hof afgegooi, waar regters met ‘n vergadering besig was.

Geen berigte van beserings is ontvang nie.

Die 54-jarige Maduro is die afgelope drie maande die teiken van protes deur opposisieleiers wat hom as ‘n diktator bestempel wat die eens vooruitstrewende ekonomie vernietig het. Teenstand teen hom laai ook in regerings- en weermaggeledere op.
