Happy recipients from FNB web-based Happiness Store
“It has been three weeks since we launched the first online e-commerce store where people could buy a lot of happiness for a fellow Namibian,” says Madri Frewer, Marketing Manager at FNB Namibia.
“Thus far we are happy with the response by the Namibian public which has increased steadily since launching the FNB Happiness Store. We have already warmed the hearts of almost 30 Namibians and have added another 35 possible recipients to the choices on offer.”
Frewer explains that the FNB Happiness Store is the first online store where the shopper can only make purchases to benefit someone else.
“When visiting the store on www.fnbhappinessstore.com.na you will see people who have expressed a certain wish to be fulfilled – in need of a little happiness. Once you have selected a person and gift, the easy purchase button will take you the online payment system, driven by FNB eCommerce enabled through the use of debit and credit cards.
“The recipients will receive their gift from you within seven days and then will once again feature on the website under the Happy Gallery. The website is very easy to negotiate – both for nominating fellow Namibians or for purchasing a gift – if you follow the step by step instructions.”
She adds that the response from the recipients of their wishes has been more than grateful.
Herewith, some quotes from the recipients upon delivery: “I really appreciate this initiative; I can’t believe this worked in my favour” - Andreas Alweendo
“Wow, I feel blessed, thank you FNB for making me happy” - Alina Garises
“Thank you so much, may God bless you guys” - Siboniso Maphosa “Thank you for the blanket, now I can keep my daughter warm” - Naulene Wessels “Our Happiness Store also seems to have been launched at a great time, when Dr. Hage Geingob set a great example by giving and committing to support the poor from his own pocket. By buying happiness for fellow Namibians via the Happiness Store we can follow the example of His Excellency and help those who need it the most,” Frewer concludes.
The FNB Happiness Store is currently only available to Windhoek residents and plans are underway to expand to the rest of the country. Ts&Cs apply.
