ANONYMOUS WRITES:Rogue party members betrayed the trust of the Swapo liberation struggle legacy. The mission of Swapo/Plan, during the long liberation struggle, was for justice, dignity, equity and opportunity (principles lived by Andimba Herman Toivo Ya Toivo).Political liberation was achieved on 21 March 1990. The socio-economic challenges of ignorance, poverty and disease were inherited to be eliminated by working and planning for Vision 2030, in the spirit of Harambee – sharing and caring for a sustainable, prosperous peace.However, a small group of rogue party members, used the access to power and position to enrich themselves in the civil service and state-owned enterprises. Air Namibia was the big victim of mismanagement and a predator mentality.They betrayed the trust of party, government and country for short-term frenzy at the feeding trough of power and resources.Namibia is a secular state (your religion is your personal choice). You can choose God (truth) or mammon (greed).All politicians and senior civil servants are supposed to be subject to lifestyle audits. What was the result?Never have so few stolen a better future from so many (Fishrot). Blood watered our freedom, but now red ink/theft has taken over. It required an outside whistle-blower and investigative journalists to expose the confidential cover-up of the Anti-Corruption Commission. Al Jazeera exposed deep rooted systematic corruption in the fishing industry.Power corrupts and absolute incompetent, greedy power corrupts absolutely. Trust is earned, but once broken is difficult to restore. Democratic government is about service delivery, of, by, for and with the people. It requires accountability and transparency. A professional, apolitical, competent, efficient civil service is in the interest of the governing ruling party. If not, you lose votes and power.In serving each other, we can achieve real freedom, based on merit, pragmatism and honesty. Think not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. Those that give shall receive.Swapo has a core of honourable liberators and administrators. Transform internally and eliminate corrupt, incompetent predators to restore the party's brand of trust. The party and the country will benefit long-term. See measures taken by a fellow liberation party, the ANC and the Zondo Commission in South-Africa.Namibia deserves better. The truth will set you free. Honesty is the best policy. Move away from stomach politics.Whistle-blowers have to be brave.
