Swapo se politburo het die onlangse skorsing van die goewerneur van die Otjozondjupastreek, mnr. Otto Iipinge (foto), en vyf ander streeks- en plaaslike raadslede opgehef.
Iipinge is op 12 Junie deur die party se streekskoördineerder in Otjozondjupa, me. Susan Hikopua, saam met mnre. Julius Neumbo (Otjiwarongo), Steve Biko Booys (Okahandja) en Nelao Amagulu van Grootfontein asook dié dorp se burgemeester, Abisai Haimene en die voorsitter van die munisipale bestuurskomitee, Jack Tsanigab, geskors.
Die party se sekretaris-generaal, me. Sophia Shaningwa, het hulle hierdie week in kennis gestel Hikopua se optrede was onwettige nie nie volgens prosedure nie. Dit is daarom deur die politburo hersien en tersyde gestel. - Nampa
