Feel at home “in the bush”
Situated on the eastern border of the Etosha National Park, Kempinski Mokuti Lodge embodies the mystifying charms of Namibia. Mokuti, the Himba word meaning “in the bush”, is aptly named for this pioneering luxury lodge. Since opening its large mahogany doors to tourists shortly after Independence, Mokuti Lodge has been on the forefront of realizing the potential of the tourism industry in this region.
To date numerous other lodges have followed suit, serving the eastern part of Etosha. The lodge has seen much refurbishment over the years, including an entire revamp of the main building after most of the structure was destroyed in a fire in the late nineties. Kempinski Hotels took over management of the lodge at the end of 2008 and next month will see its most elaborate transformation to date.
A new spa with 6 treatment rooms, a state of the art gymnasium, and a tented camp with 10 private tents in the vicinity of the lodge are but a few of these exciting new developments. Landscaping of the gardens will include new walkways with illumination and the reptile park, the largest of its kind in Namibia, will also be upgraded. The lodge offers superb accommodation in all of the 106 rooms.
This includes 8 Etosha Suites, 8 Safari Suites, 34 Safari Club Rooms and 56 Deluxe Rooms. The Tambuti Restaurant serves international cuisine, with a daily changing themed buffet dinner, a la carte and live cooking stations. The Boma with its grill specialties is ideal for outdoor dinners and special events.
Both the Marula Bar and the Pool Bar offer a refreshing selection of drinks and cocktails, and with two restaurants as well as two fully licensed bars on the property, recreation facilities and outdoor pools, guests are ensured that their every need is catered for.
Kempinski Mokuti Lodge also offers world class conference and banqueting facilities, which makes the lodge a professional retreat of unrivalled proportions. Indoor venues include the Oshoto conference room which can cater for up to 160 guests, as well as the Onduno conference room which can cater for 60 guests.
The two bush venues, Olupale and Ohambo are ideal for private bush dinners and can host a maximum of 110 people, while the pool and garden area can cater for up to 275 guests. Other facilities include a business centre, curio shop, craft market and sport facilities (flood-lit tennis courts and billiards).
Kempinski Mokuti Lodge offers a wonderful wildlife experience on 4 300 hectares of private farmland with natural waterholes, and a mere 10 minute drive will get you to the Von Lindequist Gate at Etosha National Park.
More than just a getaway, Kempinski Mokuti Lodge offers the intrepid explorer an unforgettable safari experience amidst a realm of world class luxury, pampering and top tier professionalism.
Kempinski Mokuti Lodge offers special rates for SADC/Namibian residents starting from N$710 per person sharing in a deluxe room inclusive of all taxes, buffet breakfast and dinner buffet in the Tambuti Restaurant.
