Eldorado SS champions of School soccer tournament
More than a dozen schools from all corners of the country participated in the competition, hoping to take home the title.

The School Soccer tournament saw 16 schools participating for the prize last weekend. Matches started on Friday, with Chairman Mao Zedong High School facing Jan Mohr Secondary School as well as Westmont High School going up against Hochland High School.
All 16 schools were hoping to take home a hefty cash prize of N$5 000, while a second prize of N$3 500 was also up for grabs aand N$1 500 for the third-placed team.
According to organiser Dennis Neib, the day did not come without its challenges.
“Our festivities went well. As with many organised events, it did not come without challenges, but there was no challenge we could not overcome,” he said.
Neib believes that school soccer tournaments are vital for the development of players.
“Events like these are important as talents are unearthed and exposed to future opportunities in their footballing careers,” he said.
Eldorado Secondary School emerged victorious after a 3-0 win against Hochland High School in the final. This came after they beat Windhoek Technical High School in the semi-finals 2-0 and tied 0-0 with Chairman Mao Zedong High School in the quarter-finals.
Shipena Secondary School and Windhoek Technical school tied 1-1 in their battle for third place.
