Eco award for Goodyear Efficient Grip
ONE of Goodyear?s latest addition to its wide product line-up ? Efficient Grip with Fuel Saving Technology ? is the world?s first ultra-high performance tyre engineered specifically to improve the fuel consumption of cars. Efficient Grip is innovative tyre technology that truly cares and its excellence has been recognised with a top international accolade.
Efficient Grip has been awarded The Green Innovation Award by GreenWorks, a Luxembourg-based portal dedicated to companies that are sensitive to environmental impact and initiatives that favour sustainable development, friendly products and services.
In fact, two Goodyear innovations were recognised by GreenWorks: in addition to the Efficient Grip, the recently introduced Marathon LHT ll commercial vehicle tyre was also submitted to the jury, composed of 50 CEOs and company leaders.
They ranked the LHT ll second in the category of Green Product Awards. The awards reflect Goodyear?s efforts to reduce the CO2 footprint with innovative tyre technologies. Efficient Grip, with its innovative Fuel Saving Technology, is uniquely designed to provide driving performance while at the same time doing its bit for the environment.
It has proven handling and braking capabilities, plus it provides excellent mileage and reduced fuel consumption due to its outstanding rolling resistance. Efficient Grip also benefits from a variable tread and block angle arrangement, which means a quieter ride that helps to reduce noise pollution.
This tyre, which has been engineered and manufactured in Europe, is imported to South Africa and Namibia in a variety of sizes. In South Africa, Efficient Grip was named a prestigious Innovation Award finalist at the Automechanika South Africa automotive trade fair this year.
The awards competition showcases products perceived to be pioneering in the automotive aftermarket. Goodyear won the first ever Innovation Award with Max Technology at the first Automechanika Show in 2009.
