Dubbele SADC-troika in Luanda

Pres. Hage Geingob het gister in Luanda, Angola, aangekom om die Suider-Afrikaanse Ontwikkelingsgemeenskap (SADC) se dubbele troika van staatshoofde se spitsberaad by te woon. Die spitsberaad bestaan uit staatshoofde of hul verteenwoordigers van Suid-Afrika (voorsitter van die SADC), Namibië (ondervoorsitter van die SADC), Swaziland (die uittredende voorsitter van die SADC), Angola (voorsitter van die instansie vir veiligheid en sekuriteit), Zambië (die inkomende voorsitter van die instansie) en Tanzanië (die uittredende voorsitter van die instansie). Geingob sal in Augustus die voorsitterskap van die 38ste spitsberaad van SADC oorneem. Die spitsberaad van die dubbele troika sal vorderingsverslae oor die implementering van SADC-besluite in Lesotho; die politieke en veiligheidsituasie in die Demokratiese Republiek die Kongo (DRK), die instelling van die SADC-skakelkantoor in die DRK en die konsolidering van demokrasie in die streek ontvang.
