Double billed
Complaint:
Mr Price Home double billed me last Thursday for a transaction and that after I showed them that the 1st transaction went through on my cell phone. The gentleman knew that their card machines/system does it as he gave met the 2 slips to keep for refund purposes.
When I went to the shop with my bank statement as proof yesterday afternoon they refused to refund me as they need to send it to their accounts department to verify first and then I have to come back for the refund - really!!!! I have to drive all the way back from Hochland Park in my time, on my petrol to get my refund as their accounts department is too lazy to check their statements that the transaction went through twice.
The gentleman that helped me yesterday afternoon thought that my shopping was done over the weekend as he confirmed that weekend transactions often goes through double with their card machines/system.
Please warn all innocent card shoppers at The Grove Mall shopping at Mr Price Home that they should be aware of double transactions for their shopping as well as be aware that the Grove Mall charges innocent shoppers again after a parking ticket was validated at Checkers.

I am extremely sorry for what happened to the client, but currently we are busy with the claim.
What normally happens is that the client's card go through accidentally twice, then the client needs to go back to her or his bank to query, but because the clients normally will not understand why they should go back to their bank if the money went through in the store, we have a process in place to do it for them.
This is the process that we have done by completing the form, asking for the bank statement and to forward it to our head office.
The problem is not with the store itself it is with the bank's card machines we have and the banks are fully aware of it, whereby some banks has already informed their clients as well.
I personally have this customers number, because I have promised to follow up with the head office to speed up the process with the bank to refund the client's money.
On every reply I have communicated to her and I fully understand her frustration, but this type of issues is seriously beyond our control on the store's level as we are not authorised to remove any money and to give to clients.

Parking ticket validations are only valid for the first 60 minutes of parking at participating stores, thereafter the normal mall parking tariff rates will apply.
