This year the Ministry of Defence started an Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) Training Programme together with ATA ? International Training. Fabian Martens, who is a member of the KBA e.V. and also works for the German Advisory Group (Bw), initiated the donation. Lt.Col. John Iipumbu of the Medical Service was very pleased to receive the clothing on behalf of the Ministry. In 2009 the German Advisory Group started the Mobile Field Hospital project.

This hospital which is very versatile can also be deployed in cases of natural disasters and for missions of the United Nations (UN).

The field hospital has 6 fully equipped ambulances at its disposal. Fabian Martens, as medical adviser to the Ministry was responsible for this programme.

The Ministry of Defence started the training program with ATA ? International Training, certified by the University of Johannesburg, to improve their medical services and the skills of personnel on the ambulances.

When Martens informed the KBA e.V. Rescue Service in Norderstedt, Germany about this, they were impressed by the high quality of training and with the aim of supporting the programme and ensuring maximum standard of safety, donated 100 sets, which are of European standard and consist of jackets, trousers and shirts, to the Medical Service of the Ministry of Defence.

Martens said: ?The KBA e.V. Rescue Service is proud to support the Namibian government and the medical training programme together with ATA ? International Training.?
