Rocco de Witt is ’n Kaapse argitek met die wêreld aan sy voete. Hy en sy pragtige Duitse verloofde lei ’n idilliese lewe van buitelugaktiwiteite en Europese skivakansies.

Maar dan maak ’n ou weermagvriend uit die bloute sy opwagting en Rocco se bestaan word op sy kop gekeer.

Wat presies het destyds in die Bosoorlog gebeur toe hy ’n jong luitenant was? Hy is ernstig gewond tydens ’n operasie teen Swapo en het sy bewussyn verloor. Sedertdien kon hy nog nooit onthou presies wat dié voorval voorafgegaan het nie . . . Daardie herinneringe kom nou terug, met byna ondenkbare implikasies.
