Siku Investment was founded in 2013 by Sindano Katali with its primary business in events management and décor hire. In 2015 they expanded their business activities into doing house renovations and building maintenance. Since then the company has been experiencing an increase in market share in the local construction industry, not only in housing projects but commercial projects as well.
“We have successfully completed housing developments in Windhoek, Okahandja, Oshakati and Ruacana to mention a few. We recently expanded our services into hiring out of construction equipment and tools currently at a low scale, with SMEs as a target market,” said Katali.
Siku Investment’s main services are construction, project management, equipment and tool hire, supply of goods and services.
Katali’s first job was what inspired him. At his first job he was able to see a black-owned company having multiple business operations. Their professional business approach in how they ran the company and dealt with issues was really inspiring for him and this gave Katali hope that every dream is valid, and irrespective of race, ethnic group or family background, you can achieve whatever you aspire.
Siku Investment now has four fulltime employees, two interns and over 50 contract workers. On the Siku team they have an experienced engineer, quantity surveyor, financial accountant. Siku Investment’s team of consultants includes an architect (SIMNAM) and engineering and project management experts (EMTU Consulting Engineers).
“We have formed partnerships with teams of construction professionals with extensive experience in small to large complex projects. Our delivery is successful due to leadership from our team of experts; they get involved at the early stages of the project to identify the project risks,” adds Katali.
The main benefits Siku Investment’s services bring is contributing to customers’ dream of having a home and ultimately lifting up their standard of living and their wellbeing.
Most of the contracted, project-based workers are breadwinners for their families. Another element that Siku investments brings to the table is meeting the government halfway in addressing a national housing challenge in Namibia.
