Death is a part of life

Here we are in the year 2022. I use to be in the habit of doing the first entry in my journal for the year on the first day of the new year.

Because I had one of my sisters with me the past December to help me cope with my first Christmas and New Year’s Day without my husband, I could not bring myself to start my writings for 2022. I just know we cannot lose hope. My thoughts are constantly with those who had also suffered great loss in 2021. I pray for them. I almost want to rephrase the words of Charles Dickens: “It was the worst of times, the very worst of times.”

We all know that death is a part of life. When loved ones leave us unexpectedly it is hard to bear.

The prophetic word from the Spirit of the Lord for us is:

Hebrews 13:5 – 6

Let your conduct be without covetousness, be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. So, we may boldly say:

The Lord is my helper, I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear not for I am with you: Be not dismayed for I am your God.

I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand:

Isaiah 42:8

“I am the Lord, that is My name.

And My glory I will not give to another. Nor my praise to carved images.”

May Jesus Christ be exalted in our Nation. May God bless Namibia, her people, especially our children as we give Him glory, honour and praise.
