Damiane Majiedt started off as an entrepreneur in the entertainment industry before he joined MultiChoice Namibia in 2012.
“I’m a keen soccer player with an interest in digital innovation and customer experience. I love the outdoors and getting away from the busy city life,” he says.
Majiedt’s job is all about clients and customers. He is part of the sales team, so he deals with all agents across the country.
“I’m responsible for upskilling them on customer-facing skills and product knowledge,” he says.
Majiedt is also responsible for assisting in the launches of new products and applications to ensure the business gets maximum exposure at customer level.
“I’m constantly analysing the market to spot new trends to ensure we stay ahead and improve our service, products and keep up to date in the digital era,” he says.
He says one of the challenges he faced last year included changing the way he worked which also presented new opportunities. “This meant using different channels to communicate with agents due to travel restrictions,” he further says.
A day in the office
His day starts with coffee and planning. “I use the ‘to do’ list I made the day before to prioritise my tasks as my daily planner is very important,” he says. A typical day involves calls and meetings with peers and partners to ensure they find better ways to penetrate their customer base.
Majiedt loves the challenge of research, learning new technologies and discovering new methods to sell. Aside from work, he says his son inspires him the most. The advice he would give to aspiring young people out there is to keep learning and upskilling themselves because knowledge is key.
“My future is in MultiChoice. I am working towards more responsibilities in the company and to better help achieve our goal of being a leader in video entertainment,” he concludes.
