Clarence Lamperth is moving up north with Paratus

Michelline Nawatises
Clarence Lamperth has been appointed as branch manager responsible for opening the new Paratus branch in the north of Namibia, where the company has been busy with infrastructure deployment between Ondangwa and Oshakati.

This is another example of how Paratus, Africa’s quality network, is unlocking potential for customers in all the regions of Namibia. Clarence’s promotion to the branch manager comes after 12 years of hard work and dedication to the company as a sales executive.

Clarence began his life in the telecommunications industry when he held a commercial support agent position at Telecom Namibia in 1998 and was promoted to sales representative in 2003. He is thrilled now to have been appointed as a branch manager at Paratus and says: “It didn’t come easy or happen overnight.”

Born in Windhoek and raised on a farm near Gobabis, he studied at the Polytechnic of Namibia, now known as Namibia University of Science and Technology, and at Damelin College, where he attained a National Certificate in Accounting and Finance and a diploma in book-keeping.

He says he also did short courses along the way in sales and marketing management in telecommunications, Cisco Sales Essentials and practical selling.

“I wanted to keep myself relevant and to get to where I am today, not to mention the time, dedication, and discipline it took too.”

His hard work, determination, and can-do attitude, which have always been recognised and appreciated by his customers and colleagues, have stood him in good stead as the perfect candidate for this new position at Paratus.

In his new position, Clarence will be helping the company’s clients, who range from small, medium, and large enterprises to local government, farmers, lodges, and private individuals, to have access to Paratus services, including Fibre to the Home (FTTH), wireless broadband (Sky-Fi), virtual private servers, cloud services, mobile LTE 4G and more.

Clarence is a proud Namibian, values his roots and still helps his family with stock farming in his spare time.

He is relishing his new position and looks forward to the future with excitement, ready to take on the challenge of opening new frontiers and unlimiting the potential of Paratus.

His first task is to establish an office. With the network already in place and the current roll out of fibre, the branch opening is expected to be in last quarter of 2021. Once settled, Clarence will start onboarding customers and looking for suitable employees to join the Paratus team.

“We are excited about having a presence in the north, which is long overdue, and look forward to engaging with potential clients and being able to expand our product offerings and great services to the people of Ondangwa, Ongwediva and Oshakati areas and at the same time expand our footprint in the Northern region. With a large number of inhabitants in the area, we are aiming to unlimit the potential of the customer and to empower the community by way of offering better connectivity at affordable prices and creating new job opportunities,” says Clarence.
