Cell One’s big celebrations
AFTER its first year of operations Cell One is promising Namibians the delivery of accessible and affordable mobile communications solutions that will help facilitate commerce in all the sectors of the country’s economy. Cell One hosted a breakfast on Wednesday in Windhoek to celebrate its first anniversary.
At the occasion, Cell One Board Chairman, Gerson Narib, said Cell One had established an impressive footprint across Namibia and will continue building on the past year’s achievements with a strong focus on excellent all-round customer experience.
He added that Namibians can look forward to a continuation of what Cell One has started – a quality network, competitive rates, and customer centric offerings that culminate in greater value for money. Speaking at the same event, the new Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Joel Kaapanda, said Namibia’s mobile communications landscape has changed for the better over the past year with the introduction of Cell One.
He said scepticism about the industry had given way to optimism and trust, when considering Cell One’s excellent track record so far. Cell One commenced business in March 2007 and has since successfully established a full product portfolio including, Voice, SMS and Data as both prepaid and postpaid offerings. Cell One’s network covers about 70% of the Namibian population in all 13 regions.
