The strong-willed Unam Investment Society is creating a space for students to thrive in finance-based courses.

The University of Namibia Investment Society (UNIS) is a finance-based student society. It was founded by Enos Kamtukwata in 2018, and won best newcomer society that year.

UNIS aims to engage students who share a common interest in investment and the financial field, regardless of their academic background. The team fosters learning opportunities for advancement and professional development in preparation for careers in the field of finance and investing.

The society has 58 members, inclusive of an executive board. UNIS has a number for benefits. The society helps connect students to the corporate world because it provides team members with a lot of opportunities such as information sessions, competitions, educational workshops, networking sessions, and even social events based on financial literacy. The team fosters learning opportunities for advancement and professional development in preparation for careers in the field of finance and investing.

All of this is powered by their well-managed executive committee who do their very best to reach out to experts in the industry to engage with the students who are a part of this committee. Members within the society also provide each other with exposure and insight into what they may encounter once they are ready to step in field. This helps the students with their skill set in the world after university.

For students who are interested in economic, finance and investing related topics, this is the society for you. The requirements to join UNIS is a N$20 fee and being a Unam student.
