Monique AdamsStadio Namibia, previously known as Southern Business School Namibia, currently employs 16 staff members and has offices in Windhoek and Ongwediva. Having a culture that is based on mutual respect, the company is built around its students and staff, with their company culture being centred on people.“Covid-19 had a major impact on most businesses and higher education institutions were no exception. The financial hardships our students faced were of course transferred to us as an institution. Student numbers were influenced and this had knock-on effects for the whole business,” says Dr Albin Jacobs, the head of campus of Stadio Namibia.In the next five years the institution hopes to have a new name and brand that is well established.The institution constantly looks for ways that it can give back to the community, and particularly to students.During the last semester, they introduced the Ukumwe initiative, which encouraged students to share the Stadio message with prospective students. For every student they successfully referred, they received a N$200 discount on their study fees.“We are looking at a new scheme that will grant shares to our postgraduate students who graduated from Stadio. We hope to create a legacy and build lasting relationships with these students,” Jacobs says.For the next semester, they will keep their registration fees the same for all qualifications, and keep the tuition fees the same for all higher certificates, diplomas and degrees.
