These days, your cell phone can save your life in more than one situation. Should you be in an accident and you are conscious, you can phone for help. If you can?t, people can use your phone to get help. Better still, store ?In Case of Emergency? numbers in your phonebook.
Unfortunately cell phones are also very popular amongst robbers; it?s almost guaranteed you?ll lose it when attacked. An alternative safety precaution is to wear a leather or rubber band around your wrist, neck or ankle, with emergency numbers written or stamped on it.
The last thing a cyclist needs is a bag full of bulging documents and books full of phone numbers! Having your ID number somewhere on you is also a good idea, especially if you have a medical condition and medical workers have to identify you quickly.
