Asino Iita, always finds a cutting-edge solution for his clients

Asino’s humour is what first attracts you. He’s gregarious, infectious, and engaging. He’s 29 years old, and he’s been with Paratus since he was an apprentice ten years ago.

He was born in the northern part of Namibia in a town called Uukuuvu and went to school in Windhoek. In his early years at school, he was very interested in science and was particularly influenced by the TV show ‘Dexter’.

After unsuccessfully applying to study electronics and engineering as his preferred tertiary subjects’, he landed up studying accounting and soon realised that it was not his passion, although he was very good at it, and he scored top marks. He heard of an apprenticeship opportunity within Orion Telecoms, now named Paratus, and joined the programme in 2011. Asino believes that this was the foundation that helped him build his success and to get him to where he is today.

He is now a key role player as a senior technician in the PBX department of Paratus Namibia,

where he looks to create solutions that add value for his customers. He keeps ahead of the curve in terms of the technology and industry knowledge and applies it with flair. He’s always available and wholly dependable and pushes himself to take on more responsibility. His empathy makes him an appealing and popular colleague – someone who’s happy to get into the thick of things, do some serious head-scratching and then slice through the problems.

He has a healthy love of life and work, he enjoys interacting with clients, motivating his colleagues and always goes above and beyond what’s expected of him. He also recognised the value of thinking big and believes in his ability to achieve his goals. He has a great passion for science and technology and anything to do with computers particularly. He is enthusiastic about learning more and he balances this with a love of soccer, gaming, and general fitness – when he has time.

He admires his father the most for what he’s taught him and he’s always thinking about how the game can be changed for the better. He wishes he could see into the future so that he could help prevent all the bad things from happening in the world.
