Another first for Elisenheim
BUYING into a unique development such as the Elisenheim Lifestyle Estate, means more than setting up home in Windhoek?s new development, but also being able to make use of the first time features and external services designed to enhance its living conditions.
Construction activities on the Phase 1 site which are leading up to building of the first houses by the first quarter of 2011, are still a far cry from the finished product, which promises a development where landscape meets urban living as never seen before in Namibia.
Inclusive in the list of unique features incorporated into the Elisenheim development, is the provision of bicycle paths on both sides of the main arterial roads.
According to Lise Sorensen (EPDC Project Manager), the cycling routes will run through the three major roadways linking the community to the facilities namely schools, shops, church and business centre.
?This is the first town planning design that has embraced the modern concept of merging cycling routes into the original road planning product, which opens up a new avenue of lifestyle to families and Elisenheim residents,? said Sorensen.
?The cycling routes and walkways are geared for neighbourly interaction, making this a safe, pedestrian-friendly town, where children are not confined to the backyards.?
She pointed out that the urban and lifestyle planning to incorporate cycling routes into the greater scheme of things plays a major role in the Elisenheim concept of tying together landscaping and architecture.
