Act now to provide decent housing

This letter serves to remind the Honourable Minister that we have a Namibian building system which is a sustainable housing delivery solution.
This ground breaking housing solution falls perfectly within Vision 2030's plan for construction and infrastructure development. The year 2030 is just around the corner. If we collaborate we can speed up reaching our targets. This can only be addressed through a workable Master Plan for bulk infrastructure service delivery for all regions in Namibia. If we work together, we can deliver.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to visit our Ghetto Design Studio located in Khomasdal, Erf 2622, Willa Fielies Street.
Modern computerized technology will allow the Honourable Minister to monitor all regions remotely from his/her office.
The current Covid-19 disease is an example which puts people living in poor conditions in informal settlements at high risk.
I believe that regional councils, municipalities and community leaders are running out of ideas, which is why I feel that we need a workable Master Plan monitored from the head offices of the Ministry. Additional Ministries such as the Ministries of Health and Education should be involved.
If we do not take the bull by the horns now, we will not be capable of delivering dignified homes in the next five, ten or twenty years. We need to honour Vision 2030.
I propose we call this Master Plan the “Harambee Rescue Master Plan for Housing”. We must involve communities in decision making throughout the 14 regions.
We have spent over 15 years and over 40 million up to now without Government support. It will cost our Government millions to design a Master Plan for construction. The work has already been done.
Our local Namibian building system is way ahead in Africa and meets all international Human Health and Safety standards.
Let us form partnerships to save lives.
