Nam expected to export 34 200 t of grapes
Namibia this season will export about 34 200 tonnes of grapes to Europe and other countries as the country's table grape season gets into full swing, the Namibia Grape Growers and Export Association has said. According to the deputy chairperson of the association, Kobus Bothma, the first consignment reached markets last week. "During these years there has been a major transformation in the cultivar profile in Namibia with leading new varieties in the world replacing some of the older ones. It seems these new varieties are making their mark and Namibia is set for growth of around 7% every year for the next five years," Bothma said. Photo Nampa
