Kaptein John McNab (1938-2020)
The indigenous Khoesan of Namibia herewith express our sincerest condolences to the berieved Rehoboth Baster Gemeente; the wife, children, Kaptein’s Council, extended family and friends of the late Kaptein John McNab, as well as the Namibian nation, in general.
The family of Rehoboth Basters and the nation of Namibia lost a stout hero, capable leader, teacher of integrity and exemplary family man. His unfailing dedication of passion to uphold and protect the unity and pride of the Baster Gemeente did not go unnoticed as he was a relentless researcher that meticulously collected and documented the truthful history regarding international affairs and the culture of the Rehoboth Basters.
He was a fountain of wisdom. He worked tirelessly towards the development and progress of his people who were entrusted to him.
Kaptein John McNab will be remembered for his diplomatic and visionary charismatic leadership as teacher and traditional leader of Rehoboth Basters for 21 years as well as great political strategist and pillar of hope. May his soul rest in eternal peace and may his family know that our prayers of strength and hope go out for them. He was indeed a mighty man of valour that left a legendary heritage which is built on a strong foundation of Christian values.
To God be all glory for this trusting and remarkable spirit whose positive legacy will always be remembered by all and sundry. The Rehoboth Baster family, the aboriginal Khoesan of Namibia and nation of Namibia are indeed honoured and privileged to have been served by him selflessly. We celebrate his rich life that was lived to the fullest.
