How the holiday vouchers work
Frank Steffan - Many Namibians all over the country have made use of the N$ 1 000 vouchers handed out as part of the Namibia Tourism Expo 2020. To make the most of your voucher – whether as a visitor or an exhibitor, it’s important to understand how the system works.
Visitors
In the run-up to this exciting event, you have had the chance to win a free holiday voucher by taking part in a number of competitions launched on social media platforms or by simply responding to articles in Namibia Media Holdings (NMH) newspapers - Allgemeine Zeitung, Namibian Sun and Republikein.
This is apart from online news outlets Erongo 24/7, Windhoek Express 24/7, Ewi IyaNooli, My Zone or the business pages of Market Watch or Business7.
But that’s not all! As a visitor to the expo, you can also win a N$1 000 holiday voucher.
The aim was to give away a whopping N$1 million to support Namibia’s tourism sector, and to that end, FNB Namibia, Vivo Energy and Namibian Breweries Limited came on board, each donating N$250 000 towards the NMH initiative.
Choose your next Namibian holiday destination and pay at the expo, and as part of the transaction, redeem your N$1 000 voucher.
Once you’ve paid, the exhibitor will send a confirmation based on your booking and the redeemed voucher’s number to NMH with the aid of a tablet issued to each exhibitor taking part in the programme.
NMH will then send a related cash payment voucher to your cell number within the hour and you can collect the money at the banking facilities available at the expo.
Exhibitors
All hospitality exhibitors are welcome to collect a tablet which allows them to send messages to the centralised voucher control
Exhibitors benefit from this goodwill initiative, but also commit towards making use of a future advertising opportunity to the value of N$500 per voucher, made available to them at half price.
So, for each voucher you redeem, you get N$500’s worth of advertising for just N$250.
