Every person is afraid of certain particulars in his/her lifetime. In this case, most learners are anxious and frightened as final examinations draw in near. Most of the learners become more excessively jumpy before an important exam because of Examinophobia. Exam fever is a very common phenomenon among every student especially when examinations are at your doorstep.

The approach of examinations means the beginning of fear in the mind of a student in consequence of pressure from the surrounding and high expectations. Examinations become an unpleasant experience in a student’s life whereby games, musical concerts, outings, debates and other extra-mural activities are all put on hold as learners get into the rhythm of busy preparation.

Many students have difficulties with time management leaving them with inadequate time to prepare for their exams, which doubles the trouble as they sit for their examinations. As an individual student your sense of duty is to work the extra mile and study smart. “If one has courage, nothing can dim the light which shines from within.” -Maya Angelou.

Due to unfounded fears many students start to doubt themselves and their abilities however they start to fill their heads with fallacious and self-discouraging beliefs. As a candidate of an examination at times you do not trust your own capabilities and believe that regardless of all your best efforts, you might still fail. The fear of failing plays a massive impact on a student which results to lack of full concentration and reasons as to why many people panic before exams.

There is always a source to every problem encountered by every person. I believe that high expectations toward a particular student cause many students to doubt themselves. As an individual, as you encounter this kind of pressure you turn to lose your self-confidence and self-esteem in everything you do.

Many people do not like competition from their colleagues because they are afraid of defeat and mockery; hence, this demotivates many students from competing against their peers. I have confidence that fear is an adaptive human response towards extreme or risky situations and one can overcome it if he is willing. "The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear."

-Nelson Mandela

Family can put you in a very difficult position as a student, whereby your family members have their own goals they want you to achieve. Their high anticipation towards what you do can amount to stress, anxiety and fear of not being able to meet their requirements, however instead of them encouraging you they are indirectly demotivating you.

The title exam makes many people scared because there are high expectations, which interfere with a student's ability to think logically or remember facts because of the accumulating pressure. I strongly agree that fear is the path to the Dark Side, hence fear always leads to anger, and anger leads to hate, as hate leads to suffering. Nevertheless, anxiety and fear is common among humans during a situation that tends to create a tense atmosphere; like exams and interviews.

As a student, you should figure out your learning style to avoid working/studying under pressure. When you are facing exams, I propose that you Mix your subjects rather than focusing only on one subject, nonetheless other subjects are not left or negated. Avoid Comparison it is a recipe for disaster to compare your studying progress with that of other people. It could discourage you especially if these people are faster learners than you.

Maintain Positivity in whatever you do, it always reflects on your actions and performances. Being positive should be every student’s main drive to an examination room. Always ask for help if there are things you do not understand in some subjects, and especially if you are feeling, stressed out.

Every time you feel nervous before or during an examination do not act to be in control, take control with whatever you have. “I’m not afraid of storms, for I'm learning how to sail my ship." -Louisa May Alcott. Examination phobia and pressure can affect anyone. Besides, all these things combine to urge you as an individual student to tirelessly work hard. Learn to turn your fears into energy and become fearless
