Elections must salvage the nation's soul and the economy

OBED TSUSEB WRITES:While we were made to belief the lie of the false promises of Vision 2030 the elected representatives of the ruling Swapo government have for the past 30 years cunningly in a clandestine, sophisticated fashion invented and devised a very wicked and deceptive political ploy, which was intended to never inclusively develop the entire Namibian population irrespective of party loyalty and affiliation.They deliberately created a culture of fear, corruption and bribery and infested all Namibian societies with this evil system of governance and subjected the majority of the masses of the Namibian citizens with deliberate intent to slavery and abject poverty, with the sole purpose of practicing a political monopoly.They sold the soul of the Namibian nation to China for greed and self-enrichment, for the selected well-connected civil servants, their families and only those with huge financial muscles who for survival purposes through bribery are able to penetrate this wicked system of governance.Fellow countrymen and women and the masses of the electorate, I am herewith seriously urging you at this crucial and critical time in the Namibian history not to fall prey to the old fashioned ignorant practice of flocking to the polling stations to just cast your vote and quietly walk away. Not even knowing or caring whom you have voted into power and leaving your destiny in the hands of corrupt party representatives who do not care about you, who will use that position of influence for their personal gain and their families and selected, well-connected comrades.I am urging you to engage these candidates prior to the elections during campaign rallies and meetings, to ascertain whether you will be able to hold them accountable for not advocating and addressing your problems and concerns on these platforms of influence. Will they be able to voice and address major issues that are currently plaguing the country and what are their stance regarding these issues?For examples the land question, housing problems, corruption/crime, entrepreneurship, development, job creation, poverty eradication, etc. Are they pro or against abortion?Political parties and organisations with the quest to take over the reins of political leadership/power from Swapo must not fall in the same trap of greed and self-enrichment at the expense of the masses. They must strive to rescue the soul of the Namibian nation and the economy from this grip of greed, out of the jaws and claws of corruption, from economic sabotage/plunder and deliberate subjection and oppression.They must steer this nation into a new direction of true reconciliation, peace, true nation-building and prosperity for all Namibian citizens, irrespective of political affiliation, ethnic origin, educational background or economic status and true equality in the letter and spirit of the Constitution.Parties must not be silent about the unhealthy relationship between the current Swapo-led government and the one party state of China. A serious, strong, loud and clear and bold stance must be taken against this unholy marriage.This relationship and China is vehemently being defended and protected by the Swapo government at the expense of the national interest of the Namibian population.The fact that a citizen or group of citizens do not share the same political conviction or follow a popular idea or the mainstream political ideology of the ruling party does not negate, diminish or take away anything from such a citizen or citizen’s fundamental freedoms and rights. The ruling party may not abuse the political power which they were entrusted with by the electorate to deliberately coerce these citizens into submission and denying and robbing them of the economic privileges and benefits that deservedly belongs to them purely because they are citizens of this country.This is how the masses had been and are still being robbed of their fundamental freedoms of thought, conscience and belief by Swapo. Out of fear of giving up their fundamental freedoms and rights they are creeping to Swapo, reasoning that Swapo has all the political power to its disposal and all the natural resources to do whatever they want to do.That is how the Swapo government over for the past 30 years created a political monopoly through fear, corruption and bribery and infested the whole country.Only well-connected civil servants and the formerly advantaged white minority citizens with huge financial muscles are able to survive this cruel system.These facts are attested to by phrases used by the current president of Swapo and the second president of Namibia: “It is cold outside of Swapo.
