Black Africa must sort it out

Jesse Jackson Kauraisa The power struggle we have often seen in Namibian football is doing its rounds yet again and this time it has embroiled Black Africa. As I pen this, there is a clear division among the hierarchy of the club and I do not see things ending well if they don't patch things up.Former interim chairperson Cassius Moeti appears to be interested in keeping the position – even after he was removed.The BA interim committee, on the other hand, are keen on making sure that Moeti's desires are not met, given that they have already replaced him with Wilhelm Goagoseb. From observing and hearing what both camps have to say about the power struggle chaos at the club, I am afraid to say that things can quickly turn sour and BA's future could look bleak very soon.It is clearly evident that some in the BA leadership structures are against Moeti, while another group in the club support the former interim chairperson.So often we have seen this happening at league and Namibian Football Association administration level and now it has trickled down to club administration level as well. How on earth do we expect our football to be normalised if things at clubs are taking this dark route we all want to escape from?To be honest, I have a feeling the ongoing chaos has the Namibia Premier League chairperson position written all over it. My understanding is that some in the BA structures are eager to put in a motion of no confidence against the current NPL chairman, while others are opposing the decision.It is also clear that being the leader gives you enough power to influence the club as far as siding with those eager to remove the chairperson is concerned. This is and could be the reason why the BA interim committee is divided. The problem those eager to make decisions face is that the supporters, who own 100% of the club, will be divided.This means that some supporters are obviously behind Moeti, while others are behind the current interim committee.It is something that will bring the club into turmoil given that unity is one thing that ensures operations run smoothly at any given organisation.BA leaders must be very careful that their infightings don't create factions amongst supporters, which can prove costly to a club that seemed so united for many years. Yes, there is no league football yet and we do not know when it will start, but fixing these petty issues before the season starts will be very important for the sake of the club and the beautiful game we all love in this country. All I can say is that the interim committee must find a peaceful solution that can benefit the club.Moeti, on the other hand, must stick to the rules that govern the club and should encourage unity instead of division within the club. I can assure you that trying to create factions and instigating divisions will benefit no one towards the end.BA must use the NPL, NFA and the normalisation committee as examples towards what division and factions within football can do.I do not think anyone within the club should feel some sort of entitlement because BA is not your club, but the people's club.People must never try to use the club as some sort of ticket to fulfil dubious ambitions. Everyone must pull in one direction and prove that BA can become that great united football club once again.jesse@namibiansun.com
