After years of building expertise across Namibia’s financial services industry, at almost 32, Zandria Venter has been appointed head of growth at Alexforbes Namibia, taking on a strategic leadership role focused on expanding the company’s footprint and creating long-term value for clients.

Venter officially assumed the role in July.

"My mandate centres on driving sustainable growth, client acquisition and strategic partnerships," Venter told Careers.

Her appointment marks another milestone in a career built on determination and continuous professional development. “I began as a receptionist at Bank Windhoek’s Kudu Branch before joining PSG Wealth Management, where I progressed from trainee wealth manager to wealth manager."

She later moved to STANLIB Namibia, advancing to head of distribution. In 2023, Venter joined Alexforbes Namibia as a business development consultant before being promoted to head of growth this year.

Venter holds a bachelor of commerce in law, a postgraduate diploma in business administration and a postgraduate diploma in financial planning.

She is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and completed the management/executive development programme at the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

“For me, this appointment is both a personal achievement and an opportunity to contribute strategically to the organisation," she says.

“It provides an opportunity to contribute at a more strategic level, drive sustainable growth across Alexforbes Namibia’s diverse service offerings, strengthen client relationships and help shape the future direction of the business while creating lasting value for our clients, colleagues and stakeholders.”

Alexforbes Namibia managing director Stefan du Preez said Venter's appointment reflects the company's confidence in her leadership and track record since joining the business.

"Since joining Alexforbes, Zandria has made a significant contribution through her business development leadership and deep understanding of our clients' needs,” he said.

“Her appointment reflects both her achievements and our confidence in her ability to lead the next phase of growth for the business. We are excited to see her drive innovation, strengthen strategic partnerships and help us deliver even greater outcomes for our clients and stakeholders.”

Keep on learning

One of her immediate priorities is to create greater awareness of the company's offerings.

“We already have an extraordinary offering,” she said. “I just want to open doors for Alexforbes Namibia to showcase what we have because more people and companies should be made aware of the value we can provide.”

Guided by the value of tenacity, Venter believes persistence is key to achieving meaningful results.

“Growth and innovation are everywhere; you should just be willing to ask,” she said. “If an opportunity does not materialise the first time, I will keep engaging, keep learning and keep looking for alternative solutions.”

Away from work, the mother of two enjoys strength training, running and spending quality time with her children.

“Exercise gives me the energy, discipline and mental clarity to succeed both professionally and personally,” she said.
