Elina Paulus works as a helpdesk administrator at Green Enterprise Solution.

Each day, she helps colleagues with computer issues, guides them through technical problems and ensures systems run smoothly.

Beyond her role in information technology, Paulus is also deeply committed to the well-being of others, both at work and in her community in the Okuryangava neighbourhood of Windhoek.

At work, she enjoys solving problems and finds satisfaction in helping others navigate digital challenges. That combination of technical skills and compassion has shaped her career into something truly meaningful.

Like many professionals, Paulus says she has faced challenging moments.

She remembers times when several issues needed urgent attention all at once. It was overwhelming at first, but she has learned to stay calm, focus on what matters most, and stay organised. Her ability to remain composed and efficient is one of her biggest strengths.

Paulus also believes in maintaining a balance between her professional responsibilities and personal well-being. She carefully manages her time and makes space for rest and reflection. Taking breaks, spending time with loved ones, and keeping work from taking over her personal life help her stay positive and focused.

Working as teams

When speaking about her inspirations, Paulus credits the mentors and senior professionals who have supported her over the years. Their guidance has played a big role in her professional development and has taught her the value of patience and continuous learning.

One of her proudest accomplishments is the successful introduction of a new ticketing system at work. It reduced response time by 40% and improved the experience for both her team and the users they support. Seeing the results of that effort felt incredibly rewarding, Paulus says.

Recently, Paulus led the development of a self-service knowledge base for her team. This initiative has empowered them to solve simple issues independently, reduced the number of incoming requests, and boosted their confidence in their skills.

Paulus noted that she uses LinkedIn to stay updated on industry trends, while Instagram helps her follow wellness and community pages. For her, social media is a tool for personal growth and spreading positivity.

A purpose-driven life

Beyond her professional life, she is also involved in community service. In 2020, she joined an initiative that provides meals to children in need. The soup kitchen, located in her neighbourhood, supports children from disadvantaged backgrounds, including orphans. What began as a small idea has grown into something that brings real hope to many families.

For young people interested in a career in technology, Paulus encourages curiosity, lifelong learning and good listening skills. ”Technology is not just about fixing issues; it is also about understanding people and offering meaningful support,“ she says.

Her motivation comes from the small, everyday moments – a thank-you from someone she has helped or a child's smile at the soup kitchen. These gestures reaffirm the purpose behind everything she does.
