Francois MalanAs a boy growing up in this country, I am excited and proud that we now have our first female president. It’s a big change, and I love it! Seeing a woman take the highest leadership position shows that the world is moving forward, and I think that’s a great thing. Change is important, and having a female president proves that everyone, no matter their gender, can be a leader. It opens doors for new ideas, fresh perspectives and a different way of running things. I believe that change is always good because it helps us grow and improve as a country. There is always time for new things, and this moment in history proves it. We shouldn’t be afraid of something different; instead, we should embrace it. We celebrated 35 years of independence and inaugurated the first female Head of State - a momentous milestone! Namibians showed our continent, no, the world, that we are change-makers and forerunners of unity and equality. I am excited to witness what President Nandi-Ndaitwah will achieve in the next five years and wish her success in advancing our Namibia.I believe a female president is a step into a greater future for our nation. Our president can become an inspiration to young girls- motivating them to chase their dreams, regardless of societal expectations. A surge of such inspiration allows the female youth to reach their full potential- ultimately establishing an improved society. Additionally, studies show that women in leadership are more empathetic and better at communication, meaning we, as citizens, are more likely to have our voices heardPius AlfeusWhen the news came that Ms Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah had won the elections I was enthusiastic about the idea of Namibia having it's first female president. As the boy child , having a female president has shown me that I can learn from diverse perspectives and leadership styles which has enhanced my understanding of governance. Ms Netumbo Nandi-Ndatwah has demonstrated that leadership transcends gender. This exposure helps dismantle stereotypes and fosters respect for equality. She has contributed to a balanced and equitable society which will encourage the Namibian boy child to pursue their interests without bias.
