Meet Lea Ndahepele, a rising force in Namibian netball, currently playing for Tigers Netball Club in the MTC Netball Premier League. Taking on the dual roles of goalkeeper and goal shooter, Lea’s versatility makes her a vital asset to her team.

Her netball journey began in primary school when a teacher noticed her potential. What started as fun soon became a deep passion – one that continues to drive her today. "The more I played, the more I fell in love with the game," she shares.

Ndahepele's proudest moment? Playing in Namibia’s top league and being named Player of the Match several times last season – a clear sign that her hard work is paying off.

Off the court, she juggles a busy life, working while pursuing her Honours in Communication at the Namibia University of Science and Technology. It’s not easy, she admits, but staying organised and pushing through tough days keeps her grounded.

The biggest challenge? Finding balance. Between netball, studies, work and life, it has been a demanding ride. “There were days when my body just needed rest,” she says. “But I’ve learned to listen to my body and manage better.”

Her biggest inspiration is Jamaican netball star Shamera Sterling, whose game control and confidence continue to motivate her.

Ndahepele’s future goals include representing Namibia internationally and helping Tigers finish in the league’s top four. She is also passionate about inspiring younger players and growing the sport she loves.
