Math & Science Week

The week started off, as all things in Pro Ed, with praise to the Lord and a prayer of hope and perseverance. Our head boy, Lorenzo Williams, explained to the students how everything is connected to the Lord, even science and math. Taking an interesting approach, he explained how the galaxies and stars are arranged according to mathematical formulas, depicting how God created the universe using intricate mathematical patterns.The week started with a murder mystery, where the children had to use their mathematical and scientific skills as well as reasoning skills to solve the murder. It involved the “death” of our beloved Juf. Joefie and forced the students to delve into their tactical and strategical wits to try and solve the path of solutions to determine the time and place of the murder. All these clues led to the ultimate discovery of who led to the victim's demise.The third activity was an online quiz, focusing on science where the students took turns answering questions in their respective teams. The questions ranged from physics to chemistry and biology.On Thursday, the students engaged in a tower building experiment where they were given a sheet with instructions, forcing them to use their mathematical and spatial skills to create an image in their minds and execute it. The objective was simple: They had to build towers out of dominos, placing them in an octagonal format that ensures the tower will not fall over while working but eventually create a domino effect.Lastly, on Friday the students and teachers got to engage in some fun by switching roles. The students got to dress up as their favourite teachers and vice versa where teachers unravelled and revisited the rich tapestry of student life. Some students took it to the next level, for example Nathan who even shaved his head to imitate Mr. Sias!
