It was a night for the new grade 8s to showcase their talent, representing various social problems that affect teenagers in high school, such as gambling, substance abuse, bullying, bunking classes, peer pressure, low self-esteem, disrespect and dating.

Each class had to come up with something creative to show how their topic affects teenagers in high school daily. Each class presented their topics in different ways, and there was also a performance by the LRCs.

After the grade 8 concert, the learners stayed behind for their official orientation sleepover, which started with a motivational speech by Dr Feris, who spoke about the problems we face as teenagers in the 21st century and how to overcome them.

There were many activities, including dancing, a sing-along competition among the different classes, icebreakers and listening games. Then, the grade 8s received cakes to congratulate them on their hard work and talent.

The night was an inspiring and engaging experience for the new grade 8s, offering them a chance to showcase their creativity and talents while learning about social issues they face as teenagers. The event helped to build a sense of community, teamwork and resilience, setting a positive tone for their high school journey ahead.
