She believes in speaking for those who cannot and in building bridges where divides might exist. “I’ve always liked leading, to be the voice for those who were too afraid to speak up, and to be the bridge between my fellow learners and my teachers,” she reflects.Her philosophy of leadership goes beyond rules and authority; it is grounded in empathy. “Sometimes learners or my peers don’t listen to instructions or they break rules. I’ve learnt to be patient and connect with them before correcting them, because once they feel seen and heard, they listen too,” Roxen explains.To those who dream of stepping into leadership, she offers a word of wisdom: “Know your why. Don’t just run to be an LRC because it looks cool. It must be your passion – something you strive to improve continuously.”
