Dragon Day: A wild tradition of fun and chaos!

Every year, our college (grades 9 to 12) at St George's Diocesan School celebrate one of the most exciting and anticipated events of the year – Dragon Day!This long-standing tradition is a day filled with laughter, competition, and, of course, a whole lot of mess.The highlight of Dragon Day befalls the grade 12 students, who, as the seniors of the school, are given special custom-made shirts to mark their final year. These students also get the ultimate privilege: chasing down their peers and even teachers, capturing them, and throwing them into a glorious pit of mud!It's all in good fun, but let's be honest – no one wants to be caught, which makes the chase all the more thrilling.Aside from the legendary mud throw, the entire school participates in a variety of fun games and challenges, with each grade rotating through different activities. Some of the classic games include tug of war, musical chairs, and the egg-and-spoon race – each one testing teamwork, balance, and sometimes, the ability to survive utter chaos.As if that weren't enough, the day ends with one final showdown: the epic watermelon fight. This is exactly what it sounds like – students and teachers launching chunks of watermelon at each other in a fruity free-for-all. It's sticky, it's messy, but it's an unforgettable way to end the day.Dragon Day isn't just about getting dirty – it's about school spirit, camaraderie, and making memories. Whether you're a participant or a spectator, one thing is certain: this is a day no one ever forgets!
