With his highly technical background, Erasmus felt that by merging the checklists and procedural nature of commercial aviation with the creativity and customer-centricity of the real estate industry, they could find the niche that would help their clientele find the perfect property or strike the best possible deal.

“The market is a very dynamic place, so what we like to do differently is work together as a unit to find the best solutions for our clients. We work closely with an top international real estate agent and professional coach, Dirk Zeller, who helps us to identify limiting beliefs and work toward positive outcomes,” he explained.

Employing these weekly coaching sessions, Erasmus then engages his team of 16 agents to help them maximise their potential, grow their support network and ultimately provide the best possible service to their clients.

Common purpose is powerful

Not only is their focus on forging mindful connections, impactful individual and professionals are part of their recipe for success. Their other trump card is the interdependent manner in which they work to achieve their individual and collective goals.

“In most agencies, your biggest enemy is sitting right to you and wants to work against you as if it’s a competition or race,” Erasmus said.

“Here at Hashtag Home, we work on an interdependent basis and try and stimulate an environment where we can work as a team to achieve collective success. For instance, any properties I list are open to any of my agents to put into the market and vice versa. We’ve also set up our commission and incentive structure in a manner that makes it conducive to sell a property with a colleague. This has resulted in our team being eager to work together to find solutions instead of struggling to get a positive outcome by yourself,” he added.

“We’re a big bunch of diverse personalities, each with our own strengths, but as a cohesive unit, we’re able to achieve so much more - all to the benefit of the organisation and our clients as a whole.”
