Walvis Bay Airport gets N$1.3m digital upgrade

The Namibia Airports Company (NAC) has successfully implemented a modern flight information display system (FIDS) at Walvis Bay International Airport, marking another important milestone in the airport's digital transformation journey.Valued at approximately N$1.3 million, the project introduces real-time flight information displays throughout the terminal, ensuring passengers have access to accurate and up-to-date travel information from the moment they enter the airport. Digital screens have been strategically installed at key customer touchpoints,including check-in areas, departure lounges, waiting areas, and other passengerservice locations.The system comprises advanced FIDS software, high-quality professional display screens, dedicated operator workstations, and a robust server environment designed to deliver reliable and efficient performance. The technology enables airport personnel to update and manage flight information seamlessly, ensuring passengers receive timely notifications regarding arrivals, departures, boarding times, gate allocations, and any operational changes.Passengers can now enjoy greater convenience and peace of mind through clear, visible, and easily accessible flight information, reducing uncertainty and improving the flow of passengers throughout the terminal, and contributing to a smoother, more enjoyable airport journey.
