Ultra Special brings 'The Beast'

Ultra Special Energy has become the first company in Namibia to commission a Bandit 2680T “The Beast” horizontal biomass grinder, following a N$17 million investment in world-class technology imported from Michigan in the United States.The acquisition positions the company as a key supplier to NamPower’s 40MW Oshikoto Biomass Power Station.Ultra Special Energy is one of only four long-term fuel suppliers appointed for the landmark project.The state-of-the-art Bandit 2680T is one of the world’s leading biomass processing machines, capable of producing between 80 and 150 tonnes of high-quality wood chips per hour. This capacity will enable the company to meet the fuel requirements of the power station while supporting Namibia’s transition towards cleaner, renewable energy, according to the company’s business development director, Tuli Shilongo.Shilongo said the machine is one of several major pieces of equipment Ultra Special Energy has acquired as part of its investment in the project.“Together, the fleet represents a significant commitment to local infrastructure development, job creation and long-term economic participation within Namibia’s growing green energy sector,” he said.He added that the arrival of the Bandit 2680T represents not only an investment in machinery, but also an important step towards building a cleaner energy future while empowering previously disadvantaged Namibian businesses to participate meaningfully in large-scale industrial projects.“This investment is about more than acquiring world-class equipment; it is about investing in Namibia’s future, creating opportunities for our people, and contributing to a more sustainable energy sector,” he said.
