Trade ministry to host Tanzanian delegation

The Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade (MIT) as part of its continuous efforts to promote trade, investment opportunities and market the country, will host a Tanzanian Business Delegation between 2 – 9 July 2022 in Windhoek. The business seminar will be held under the patronage of His Excellency, Lebbius Tangeni Tobia – High Commissioner of the Republic of Namibia to the United Republic of Tanzania.The Tanzanian business delegation consist of four executives involved in diverse business activities such as real estate, construction, mining and pharmaceutical industries, meat processing, wine making and sugar production. The forum seeks to promote various projects namely energy, finance, infrastructure, logistics, manufacturing, tourism and housing. The delegacy will have an opportunity to meet specific Government Offices, Ministries, Agencies as well as private sector enterprises. Notable site visits across the country have been arranged and those interested to meet the visiting team are encouraged to contact the Ministry prior to the stipulated dates to allow necessary arrangements. Namibia trades in wine of fresh grapes, whiskies, liqueurs and cordials to Tanzania. Bilateral trade between Namibia and Tanzania continue to surge upwards notably so from 2020 to date, expanding great export potential in the following products namely Beer made from malt, frozen Mackerel and Unwrought zinc. With the ministry’s investment and trade culture, we are hopeful that, such a platform will leverage off from the existing good political-diplomatic relations that exists and translate into tangible economic gains. To cooperate and develop synergy in an approach to industrialisation, to add value to raw material, share in both the upstream and downstream of the value chains that have been created. Namibia’s ambition is to broaden the scope of bilateral cooperation with Tanzania by attending to all the areas over which the Ministry of Industrialisation and Trade has mandate
