People showed up in large numbers on open day as Novel Ford had a test drive on the Saturday, 21 January 2023 for the new Ford Everest Platinum, Wildtrack and the XLT.

Ford delivers with the new range of cars as technology comes into play. “Eagle’s eye”, the new Ford cars impress with the 360% high definition reverse camera.

Phillip van der Merwe, Ford brand manager said, “we’ve been waiting for the new ranger from round about October already, so it is such existing times for us. In 2018 we were in the 31st in regards to top performing dealers, fast forward to the end of December 2022 we were the top performing dealer in double-cab sales in southern Africa”.

The star of the show

The 2022 Ford Ranger WILDTRAK 2.0 (4x4) is a four-wheel drive double cab pickup with the new Cyber Orange. With six variants and four engines, including two V6s, the new Ford Ranger offers more technology and space than before.

The Ranger is a four-wheel drive 4 door with 5 seats, powered by a 2.0L DIESEL TWIN TURBO 4 engine that has 157 kW of power (at 3750 rpm) and 500 Nm of torque (at 1750 rpm) via a Ten-speed Automatic. Ford claims the Ranger WILDTRAK 2.0 (4x4) uses 7.4L/100km of Diesel in the combined city and highway cycle while putting out 195g of CO2. It has an 80L fuel tank, meaning it should be able to travel 1081km per full tank.

We took it for a spin, and the interior is well upgraded, standard features across the range include a 10.1-inch touchscreen, 8.0-inch digital instrument display, climate control, rear parking sensors (pick-up only), and a full suite of active safety technology, including autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and on pick-up models, blind-spot monitoring.

The technology is really impressive with the wireless charging that is so convenient and the cup-holders build just in front of the air conditioning to make sure cold drinks are kept cold.”

The prices of the Wildtrack 4X4 start at around N$ 890 000.

Philip van der Merwe, “what’s stopping you from living your best life? 2x4 or 4x4 you won’t regret the purchase.”
