Team Namibia hosts 2025 AGM
Team Namibia hosted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, 4 November 2025 in Windhoek, bringing together members, partners and industry stakeholders under the theme “Proudly Namibian: Building Brands with a Purpose.”
The AGM provided a platform to reflect, collaborate and reaffirm commitment to the “Buy Local, Grow Namibia” vision. The event highlighted achievements of purpose-driven Namibian brands and their role in strengthening the country’s economic and social development.
Delivering the keynote address, Margareth Gustavo, executive director for competitiveness and branding at the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB), underscored
the importance of strengthening Namibia’s local industries and enhancing their global competitiveness.
“When I first started at Team Namibia, it was really about this, how do we build our national products, the products that are made right here and export them beyond our borders? In order to achieve that, how do we support our local producers and service providers so that we can create a strong local market, one that enables us to compete and succeed internationally?”
Chairperson of Team Namibia, Mr. Sidney Hanstein, reflected on the organisation’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the local business ecosystem. “Together, we are redefining what it means to be a Namibian brand, not just a logo or a product on a shelf, but a story of resilience, creativity and contribution to our country’s economic growth,” Sidney added. A highlight of the AGM was the Namibian Product Showcase Corner, where members displayed locally produced goods and services. This platform facilitated networking between Team Namibia members, corporate partners and the media, promoting collaboration and visibility for homegrown brands.
In her closing remarks, Patricia Hoeksema of the Team Namibia Board of Directors said: “As we close, let us carry forward today’s theme – ‘Proudly Namibian: Building Brands with a Purpose.’
May we continue to collaborate, innovate and celebrate the strength of our local identity”. She thanked attendees for their commitment to the movement’s vision.
